Texas Hold'em Strategy The Ultimate Secret Texas Hold'em Strategy Workbook is a guide to the most simple and effective strategy to maximize your winnings at Texas Hold'em. It is based on an experiential analysis of the cards you are dealt in the opening hands, the pivotal decision point. You will experience the hands that have the highest probability of winning, and know when to fold hands that have no more probability of success than flipping a coin. Going in when you have a proven probability of success and getting out when you don't will give you the ultimate edge and secret to the game. The Ultimate Secret Texas Hold'em Strategy Workbook outlines a "train your brain" process in which you will experience what hands win and lose, and almost unconsciously establish a personal discipline that ensures you play 'tight', focused, and accurately. It will "train your brain" to get beyond ego and irrational plays to stay "in the game" and win. You will create a strategy for success that is based on the reality of the odds of the game, you will play with confidence in your knowledge, and your bankroll will increase almost every time you play. A Little Background I've always enjoyed playing poker and think I have a very good knowledge and experience of the game. I was absolutely delighted to find the Full Tilt and Poker Stars sites and was fascinated with the latest rage of Texas Hold'em. Great fun! Wow, I started out playing with 'wild abandon' and racked up hundreds of thousands of dollars of play money on both sites. It was entertaining, fun, challenging and intriguing at times. I seemed invincible for a while, cards were falling just as I needed and I kept on raising the stakes for more. Then a very unnerving thing started to happen. As I moved up in the play money stakes I seemed to hit a wall - a major wall. It was really more than a wall because I got "wacked" big-time! It was more like falling off a cliff. What a 'reality check!' Got "wacked" for over $100K in one session on Full Tilt, $80K the next, another $100K the next night, and the same stuff again in successive days on Poker Stars. And then I have to start again at the bottom, trolling for the money to move up, and then get "wacked" back down again. This was getting depressing as I am a good player (I think.) So then we'll screw this play money nonsense and try real money at the tables and in tourneys. Several pay checks later and it's just more of the same BS. It's an hour into the tournament and I'm in the top three many times, often down to final, and then I get "wacked" and lose it all. And it seemed to happen all of the time. Another $50 in, up in a table, leading a tourney and then "kaboom" - lose it all and then back to the bottom. WTF - I am a good poker player! This is BS! My entire self-worth is riding on how I do at Texas Hold'em and I am getting so very angry and frustrated! Can you relate to any of this? OK, let's park the ego and start thinking straight for a minute. Obviously I am not as good a player as I think I am … I must be missing something very important. I will have to figure it out. And I did. The Texas Hold'em strategy sites were really not that helpful. An overview of the high probability hands was interesting, but the stuff on table positioning and betting strategy at all of the steps of the way seemed to miss the point. My problem was more basic than that. What opening hands have the highest probability of winning - when should I stay, check, bet or fold. So I figured out a way to get that information, and to do it in a way that truly "trained my brain" to get beyond ego and irrational plays to be "in the game" and win. It worked for me - with play money and real money at the tables, and winning tournaments. I am setting my sights on getting to the ultimate finals and winning some very serious money. So I want you to understand that I feel your pain. I want you to be a winner. I will share my learning with you. |
