Since childhood, all of us, at one time or another, have thought about having a magic lamp and making our three wishes. Several years ago, I wrote a novel entitled The Lamp about adults making real-life wishes and then making them come true. Recently, my partner Tracy J. Trost and I have turned The Lamp book into a movie. Here’s a preview. The Lamp and a Wish
One of my wishes when I began writing this weekly column was to have it read by many people all around the world. This wish has come true for me over the last dozen years as, today, this column is read by countless people throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia in hundreds of newspapers, magazines, and online publications. As you read these words each week, you continue to make my wish come true.
The message of The Lamp book and movie is that each of us has the power and ability to wish for anything we want and then make our wishes come true. Sometimes, we just need other people or a lamp or even a book and movie to remind us.
Some of you may have always wished you could go to a Hollywood preview screening of a movie and get to see a film before everyone else in the world gets to see it. Others of you have probably wished for the opportunity to make dreams come true for special kids facing life challenges.
For those of you in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area where I live or anywhere in the Central United States, on September 15, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma is doing a preview screening of The Lamp movie to benefit their special work, and you are invited to join us.
I realize if you live in Sydney, Australia; Tokyo, Japan; or London, England, this invitation may not seem like a big deal, but at least you can tell your friends and family that you got invited to a special preview movie event to see The Lamp before anyone else around the world could get the movie.
Remember, the difference between a wish, a goal, and reality is simply the process of focus and action. You may have had dreams or wishes for years and even decades. These wishes and dreams have laid dormant all this time, but they can come to life right now if you will simply apply focus and action.
As you go through your day today, remember The Lamp book and movie and that your wishes are waiting to come true as soon as you apply the magic ingredients: focus and action.
