Does it always feel that way? Not so much, at least in some key area of our lives.
Sometimes it may feel like you're bombarded with negativity or things that provoke fear and anxiety, or just distract you from the 'desirable vision' -- like many of us, I've been in that place! And it can be a powerful practice to cultivate positive expectancy.
Whether you're into the Law of Attraction, cultivating a strong vision and brand, looking for improved communication, or wanting to experience better relationships and interactions with others, positive expectancy is an essential component of your approach.
We really ARE always creating and always manifesting, affecting what we perceive and experience. The question is what we're manifesting.
What we expect influences what we experience.
That's why positive expectancy is an important piece of the puzzle for us. Why?
We know that what we spend a lot of time thinking about greatly affects what we spend a lot of time 'feeling about', and that either supports our positive focus, vision, energy levels, and ability to create or doesn't.
I know only too well that sometimes things happen that make make it difficult to focus on positive thoughts and expectations, and an expansive vision.
When we feel like we've been broadsided by a challenge or loss that seems to come out of nowhere, it's easy to lose our equilibrium for a time. After all, we're deeply feeling human beings on this extraordinary adventure!
Or it may sometimes seem that we've been waiting and waiting for things we desire to manifest, and 'the gap' between what's in our experience and what we're wanting suddenly becomes fertile ground for pessimism? We feel fear, anxiety, and negative expectancy seeping into the gap… the Negative Nellies arrive in our inner-chorus and block the flow of momentum.
Been there, done that, more often than I'd care to admit. What about you?
So what can we do? Knowing that positive expectancy is a powerful part of the manifestation mix, how can we cultivate -- more often than not -- a sense of positive expectancy and all that goes with it, to really support strong, positive momentum?
I've found that there are three things that play a role:
1. Allowing, rather than resisting, what is, and
2. Shifting your thoughts, focus, and energy or vibration back to positive expectancy and alignment with what is desired -- we focus on what we DO want and what IS happening rather than what we don't want or what's not happening. And,
3. Collecting evidence for Grace, or the Desirable.
These aren't things you do once, master, and never have to focus on again. At least not for me and many of the people I know and love! It's more of a priority that we set and then make choices about as we go through our days, noticing what arises, and choosing, again and again.
And from those small steps, we begin to see progress, experience evidence for the transformation we desire. We start to notice more of what we appreciate already, and we notice more easily the evidence for Grace and progress that is arising -- people suddenly appear, we receive invitations … all sorts of wonderful things.
* Is there something you'd like greater clarity on?
* Is there progress you'd like to see happening more easily?
* Does it feel like you're 'stuck in the gap' between what exists and what you desire?
* Is there a vision you'd like to see manifested in your life and it sometimes feels overwhelming?
Send along an email - I'd be delighted to speak with you about your vision and what you'd like to be experiencing more of, and lend support and inspiration to you for focused momentum.
Even in one conversation, it can be truly amazing to see how things begin to shift!
