I help individuals discover why they are having problems and how to solve them quickly to create the results they want in their life.
Most of the time people think that if things look “bad” it’s because of luck or genes or circumstances outside their control. You might hear them saying, “I didn’t have money growing up” or “my parents were overweight” or “I have kids and don’t have time.”
But, the first step in making changes is really understanding that everything starts with you.
You are going to create a life either by design or by default. So, to create what you want in your life, follow these three simple steps.
1. Create a Vision. If your mind doesn’t know what to focus on then it will grasp all of the thoughts around you (and that’s a lot of crazy stuff these days). Have a clear picture of what you want.
Start by writing 51 things you’d love to be, do, and have. This gets you thinking bigger.
The first time I did this exercise I wrote, “I want healthy, organic foods in all of the schools across the country.” Most people think, “That’s impossible!” Yes, to the ordinary way of thinking, it is.
My response: “There has to be a way, and I’m going to be part of the solution to bringing it about!”
All great inventions started off an idea in someone’s mind. They had to be a “thought” in someone’s mind before they could be a “thing.”
One hundred years ago, no one could imagine travel by air, but the Wright Brothers didn’t let that stop them. They had an idea and kept energizing that there has to be a way to do it. By putting their energy there, they created the airplane.
So, even though it may seem impossible for you to reach your ideal size, have muscle definition, or achieve some other life dream, stretch your mind. Think beyond what you “see” as possible. That’s where the really great ideas come.
YOUR ACTION STEP:
Create a vision for your health and your life.
2. Believe it is possible. This is one I’ve really been stretching myself these past few months. Keep looking at the results of successful people vs.. bringing energy to your past failures. If we spend so much time thinking about what we can’t do or don’t have vs. what we can do and do have, we stay stuck.
When I was coaching with a client last week, he told me, “I just can’t see my business growing beyond a million dollars.”
My response, “It never will!”
Your mind can only attract what you think is possible.
After you create a vision of what you want, don’t let judgments (from yourself or others) get in your way. Judgments are what keeps us stuck.
If you are happy with your results. Great! Do what you are doing!
But, if you have clear goals set and they don’t seem to be manifesting, ask yourself, “do you really believe it’s possible?” Do you really feel you can be your goal weight? Do you really feel like you can make the income you desire? Do you really feel like you could release this constant stress about food and your body? Do you really feel like you can have that dream job?
YOUR ACTION STEP:
Energize what you do want instead of what you don’t want and watch what happens.
3. Take Action. Money or your ideal body doesn’t just happen by you lying on your couch. It happens by getting out there and taking steps—even baby steps—towards the goal you want.
Think back to something great that happened in your life. It probably happened by one person you met through one friend at one party and that led you to x and finally y and created this amazing experience..
Being a talk show host started out with me taking a friend up on her suggestion to check out the spiritual leader, Mary Morrissey. So I listened to Mary speaking on CDs and was hooked. That led me to attend a conference, which led me to meet Mat Boggs, who introduced me to Novalena.
Then, I took action to follow up with Novalena in San Diego and that’s when she invited me to be her Friend in Fitness for The Novalena Show set to air on the radio this fall and the Oprah network next year.
None of this happened with me sitting on the couch. It happened by first creating a vision for what I want—inspiring people around the world; believing it was possible—yes, I really CAN do this; then, finally, taking action and getting out there and trusting that that the solution is already here.
YOUR ACTION STEP:
Find one thing you can do each day to move your closer to your vision. Remember, these can just be baby steps. If you only wrote 3 pages for your book each night, you could have 3 books done in a year. Big things start small.
